Pressure Equipment: Pipes and tubes

The PIPE is a pressure-tight circular hollow section used in piping systems to transport gases or fluids.
The main difference between a pipe and a tube is that pipe is usually specified by a nominal diameter (DN/NPS) with a constant outer diameter (OD) and a different wall thickness depending on the permissible pressure

The TUBE name applies to hollow circular, cube, rectangular and oval parts used for pressure devices, hydraulic installations and instrumentation systems. In oil and gas industries, tubes are also used in the heat exchanger and fired heater for a process application and produced to very strict tolerances.

Pipes and tubes are for shell, nozzles and interconnection pipings of pressure vessels and for heat exchangers. Pipes and tubes can be seamless or welded.
