Question

  • Can a material manufactured according to a standard or another publicly available specification for which a European Approval of Materials (EAM) is available, but for which the inspection document only refers to the standard or the specification on which the EAM has been based, be used for pressure equipment manufactured under the PED?

Answer

Yes, if the EAM does not have any additional technical specification compared to the standard or the specification. The inspection document must satisfy the requirements of section 4.3 of Annex I
