Updating harmonised standards on the PED

Important PED harmonised standards for the Pressure Equipment Directive lose their status as harmonised standards. These are standards in the areas of fittings, industrial valves, water pipe boilers and components, above-ground GRP tanks, expansion joints and non-destructive testing. They will be removed from the list of “harmonised standards” on 03 Apr. 2024.

Presumption of conformity

Pressure equipment or assemblies which are in conformity with harmonised standards or parts thereof the references of which have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union shall be presumed to be in conformity with the essential safety requirements covered by those standards or parts thereof, referred to in Annex I of PED.
